Gill McWilliams Garman passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31st, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, caring friend, and a true gentleman.
Mr. Garman graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. He was admitted to practice law in Illinois and before the United States District Court for the Eastern (now Central) District of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Claims, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Among his professional activities, he was a member of and president of the Vermilion County Illinois Bar Association. In addition, he was a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, as well as the Illinois Association of Health Care Attorneys. He had twice been appointed by the District Judges of the Central District of Illinois, as a member of the United States Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel.
